Chicago Bears RB Kahlil Bell training in UCLA with Tim Tebow - NFL News
Chicago Bears running back Kahlil Bell is currently in Los Angeles to train with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) coaching staff and while there he met Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow who is also there to improve his passing.
Bell who was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings from UCLA before joining up with the Bears returned back to his old university to train before the start of the pre-season training camp.
The running back in an interview with the Chicago Tribune talked about practicing with other big National Football League (NFL) stars especially Tim Tebow.
"It's the offseason and a good time for everyone to improve their games. It's good to work out with other NFL players to try to stay in shape and stay on the grind."
Bell chose to return back to UCLA as he wanted to be somewhere warm with good weather and not worry about the biting cold in other parts of the United States.
"I wanted to be in the warm weather. I wanted to run outside and not worry about the cold.”
At UCLA, Bell met Tebow and ran routes for the Broncos quarterback who is looking to improve on his passing as he trains with UCLA offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone.
Speaking about Tebow, Bell said that he respects the quarterback’s competitiveness and drive to improve.
"He seems to be really genuine. And he seems to be really focused on getting better. Every time he throws in a drill, he's trying to improve his craft, and you respect that as a competitor. It's kind of hard not to have respect for him because the dude beat
us last year.”
Bell did not have a good season with Chicago covering just 337-yards on the rush in his 13 games while scoring no touchdowns.
His only scoring play came on a reception during a 38-14 defeat in week 15 to the Seattle Seahawks when he scored a touchdown from a 25-yard Caleb Hanie pass.
The Chicago Bears season went completely off the boil after injuries to regular quarterback Jay Cutler and running back Matt Forte.
The Bears went on to lose five games in a row including a 13-10 loss to the Denver Broncos in which Tebow led them from 10-0 down in the fourth quarter to win the game in overtime crushing the Bears hopes of making the playoff rounds.
