Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall impressed with improved QB Jay Cutler - NFL News
Chicago Bears made a big splash this offseason in free agency as they signed big name players to give the offence a boost ahead of the upcoming 2012-13 season.
One of those players who arrived at Halas Hall as a result was wide receiver, Brandon Marshall.
Marshall has history with quarterback, Jay Cutler, as both combined brilliantly during their playing days for the Denver Broncos and built up a wonderful partnership.
That was broken though when Cutler moved on to join the Chicago Bears while Marshall was nabbed by Miami Dolphins.
Now with Marshall back in the same roster as Cutler both players have a great opportunity to rebuild that partnership and the wide receiver believes that he sees a more mature and much better quarterback this time than he remembers.
Speaking in an interview with the NFL Network on Thursday, the three-time Pro-Bowl wide receiver said.
"He's a better player than he was yesterday and a few years ago. The growth in him is huge and I think he's going to have a huge year."
Chicago Bears fans are expecting both players to run riot in the upcoming season as Cutler will look to build on his brilliant individual season in 2011-12 which was unfortunately curtailed by a thumb injury in Week 11 against San Diego Chargers.
Marshall himself is coming off another big year with the Dolphins when he was once again voted into the Pro-Bowl and also won the Pro-Bowl Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.
The wide receiver went on to say that experience is what counts in the National Football League (NFL) most and he sees that Cutler has grown in stature with time.
"This league, you know, when you're young, it can eat you up. That's the special thing about guys who have played six, seven, 10 years, 11 years in the league; you just get better with time."
This is a big year for Chicago as they look to return to the playoffs and challenge once again after last season’s disappointing end and both Marshall and Cutler will play a huge role if the Bears wish to get back to relevancy.
