Chicago Bears determined to end losing streak against San Francisco 49ers – NFL News
It has been a long time since Chicago Bears defeated San Francisco 49ers on the latter’s home field, but Week 11 game presents opportunity to the in-form Bears to end this losing streak.
Arguably among the best teams of this National Football League (NFL) season, Bears have only lost two out of nine games this season and they are leading National Football Conference (NFC) North in which teams like Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions and Minnesota
Vikings are also present.
On the other hand, the 49ers, who are leading NFC West with six wins, two defeats and one tie, also have a solid team, but the confident Bears have all the abilities to defeat them.
49ers are also facing a somewhat uncertain situation about their offence leader. Quarterback Alex Smith, who was forced out of the field after suffering from a concussion in Week 10 game against St. Louis Rams, returned to the field on Wednesday for no-contact
drills.
However, his participation is not yet confirmed. Against Rams, Smith was replaced by Colin Kaepernick, who is expected to start against Bears if Smith does not return.
Bears head coach Lovie Smith, who is already suffering from the same problem as his quarterback Jay Cutler was also forced out after receiving a concussion last week, has said that he is preparing his team to face both Alex and Colin.
Talking to reporters via a conference call, Smith said via 49ers’ website:
“We’re going to prepare for the quarterback position for the 49ers. Whether it’s (Alex) Smith or Colin, there’s a difference between the two of them, but the 49ers are a running football team we have to start with that… It won’t change much with who the
quarterback is going to be.”
Meanwhile, Bears quarterback Jason Campbell is expected to start if Cutler does not return. Smith appreciated Jason and said of him:
“We felt really good about convincing Jason to come out here and be Jay’s backup. We’ve been with him awhile and I just love the way he prepares off the field. He’s a pro.”
The game between these two teams will be played on Monday.
