Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher reportedly gone through medical procedure in Europe – NFL News
It seems like Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher not only had three arthroscopic procedures on his knee during the offseason, but he also used the alternative medical treatment.
It has been reported that Urlacher went to Europe to have a non-invasive treatment during the offseason to cure his knee.
According to Chicago Tribune, Urlacher went to Europe during May or early June to consult a physician the sources termed "that famous doctor everybody goes to".
It might well be Dr. Peter Wehling, who is renowned for his non-invasive treatment and has done treatment to the knees of various famous athletes including Kobe Bryant, Alex Rodriguez. Dr. Wehling even did medical procedure on the late Pope John Paul II.
Urlacher himself refused to accept that he had gone through any such treatment. Talking to the Chicago Sun-Times, Urlacher said:
"I didn't think there were any quotes from me, or anybody else for that matter? I didn't think so. It doesn't matter what I did or haven't done. This is where we're at now, so that's all that matters."
Bears also refused to talk about this matter, but head coach Lovie Smith spoke about the matter insisting that it was useless to talk about this story. He said:
"Once you come up with someone that says (on the record) this happened then I can respond to it. We've already responded to all of that."
Smith remained stern about this matter and tried to stop the rain of questions. He carried on and said:
"I've told you all that I'm gonna do as far as talking about it. We're not gonna respond to every article or every person that comes out there and says something,"
Urlacher has missed most of the offseason in order to get his knee fully recovered. He managed to participate in a few practice sessions at the start of training camp, but failed to carry on afterwards.
Urlacher is going to start his 13th season in the league. He is hoping to play the season opener, but looking at the track record of his injury which occurred in January this year, there are many uncertainties about his future.
