Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler terms loss against Seattle Seahawks ‘heartbreaker’ – NFL News
Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has expressed disappointment over Week 13 loss against Seattle Seahawks and termed it a heartbreaker.
Sharing his views on ESPN 1000 with Tom Waddle and Marc Silverman’s weekly radio show on Tuesday, Cutler said of the game:
"It's a tough one. You want to win those games. I just think back to offensively what we could have done better, what I could have done to pull that out and not put us in that position."
It was their fourth loss in 12 games this season. They are tied with Green Bay Packers for the leading position in National Football Conference (NFC) North.
Cutler performed well in the game, he completed 17 of 26 passes for 233 yards and scored two touchdowns.
According to him, general manager Phil Emery is going to add another receiver in the squad. Bears’ wide receiver Brandon Marshall was the only receiver playing against Seahawks.
Alshon Jeffery is out due to knee injury while Earl Bennett and Devin Hester are out due to concussion. The exact time of their return is not known yet.
Talking about their return, Cutler said:
"It's getting a little more difficult. We hopefully will get Alshon back this week. Hopefully Devin may be back this week.”
According to Cutler, at this time of the season a receiver who would be signed should not be a rookie.
He said:
"It would have to be a veteran. It would have to be somebody that has played in the league and knows what it takes week-in and week-out. I don't think you could bring a young guy in and throw him into this offense at this point."
Cutler has performed well throughout the season. He got concussed in Week 10 game against Houston Texans, due to which he missed a game and returned in Week 12.
He has completed 191 of 312 passes for 2,235 yards with 15 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. His quarterback rating is 57.7.
Bears are going to play their next game against Minnesota Vikings on December 9.
