Chicago Blackhawks Dave Bolland hopeful for a extraordinary regular season –NHL News Update
Having played five seasons with Chicago Blackhawks up until now, Dave Bolland hopes that the upcoming season will be a breakout one and will finally give him that dominating position on the team as he has always hopes for.
It was learned through an interview with Bolland that the 25-year-old is not wasting any offseason time lounging around and relaxing but he is instead working hard on improving abilities as a player by working with Paul Goodman, who is Chicago’s strength
and conditioning coordinator.
Keeping himself active, Bolland seems excited about the new season, which is set to begin in October.
"It's always fun going in there", Bolland said of training with Goodman. "He's always got hard workouts and they're always tough. Whenever we're in there, by the time we get out I'm lying on my couch for a few hours relaxing and then waking up in the morning
to go back".
A former 32nd overall draft pick during round-two of the 2004 National Hockey League (NHL) Entry Draft by Chicago, Bolland faced a slump during the previous two seasons and has not been able to either match or exceed his 47 point (19 goals, 28
assists) performance during 2008-2009.
Chicago Blackhawks Vice President and General Manager, Stan Bowman, certainly know how valuable he is to the club and hopes he will continue doing the same for them.
"Dave's very valuable to our team and we've talked about it a lot internally, in the past, how he's so crucial to allowing other players to do what they do best", Blackhawks Vice President and General Manager Stan Bowman said.
During the final moments of the regular season and part of the first-round of the playoffs against Vancouver Canucks due to sustaining a severe concussion during a matchup in March.
For now, the Mimico, Ontario, Canada native is aiming and being well prepared ahead of the training camp and regular season. It will certainly be exciting to see whether all his hard work will pay off or not.
