Chicago Blackhawks Marian Hossa taking full advantage of long summer vacation –NHL offseason Update
The Chicago Blackhawks' roster got a lot of extra time off after the regular season and postseason ended much earlier than expected for them last season. It is hard to tell what the other players had been up to with their extra vacation, but it is easy telling
that forward player, Marian Hossa, took full advantage of his time.
Relaxing was his top priority but when it comes to the new season, other players should be warned that Hossa has also been doing his homework during the holidays. Something special Hossa can brag about is having finished of the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals as
a winner after having appeared in his third straight championship series with three different teams.
In 2008, it was with Pittsburgh Penguins, followed by Detroit Red Wings in 2009 and finally Chicago Blackhawks during 2010. The interesting part is had he been with Pittsburgh in Detroit the alternate seasons, he could have also won championships with them.
Chicago Blackhawks general manager, Stan Bowman, can easily tell that Hossa needed that extra time off and that he will be much better next season.
"The one player that I've talked a couple times to (this summer) was Marian Hossa, and he just talked about (how) he really needed this break to let his body recuperate," said Blackhawks Vice President and General Manager Stan Bowman, who participated in
Monday's charity Blackhawks Alumni Golf Outing at Medinah Country Club. "He's played so much hockey over the past three or four years, with all those long runs in the playoffs. I think he figured out that he's played almost an additional 100 games than most
guys have played".
Last season, it was Hossa’s first time in over three seasons that he did not make a Stanley Cup final series at the end of a tremendous season. The 32-year-old veteran right winger potted an impressive 57 points (25 goals, 32 assists) last season in 65 games
played, along with finishing with a plus-minus rating of nine.
This time, it was great for Marian Hossa to finally take an early vacation as he rests at home but also remains ready for the new season to begin.
