Chicago Blackhawks excited to return home for Game 3 against Phoenix Coyotes -NHL Playoffs Preview
Going into overtime has worked for both teams so far as Phoenix Coyotes took game 1, 3-2, in OT and Chicago Blackhawks answered back in post-regulation, 4-3, in game 2. What both teams will be now looking towards is rather a win in regulation rather than
making it anyone’s game in continuous overtime.
With the 2012 National Hockey League (NHL) Western Conference playoff quarterfinals heading to the United Center in Chicago, Illinois now, Blackhawks are hoping that the home crowd will work their magic as they attempt to make a run for their second Stanley
Cup in three years.
Brent Seabrook has emerged as a miraculous player for Chicago as the young defenseman kept them alive in game 2, forcing the overtime extension and keeping the Blackhawks from falling 2-0 in the series.
"I'm trying to shoot it as hard as I can and get in some lanes, try and find some seams, and get some bounces and rebounds," Seabrook said.. "You're not really worried about giving up anything. For us defensemen, we're like forwards on the back end, we're
trying to help out and get pucks to the net and trying to score, that's our main focus."
Phoenix on the other hand, is not worried about going to Chicago at all since they themselves saw two wins during the 2011-2012 regular season.
"We feel good about ourselves. We obviously let that one slip away last game, but we just want to get back out there and play and redeem ourselves,' said Coyotes' defenseman, Keith Yandle.
What should be expected now is that the physical level of play between the two teams will reach new heights as tensions will rise and getting that tie-breaking win is definitely on the mind of each and every player.
Coyotes seemed to be slacking in game 2 after coming out strong in the first but fans can expect them to come out passionate yet again getting a reality check earlier.
Phoenix has a lot on the line after winning their first ever Pacific Division title and giving now would only backfire.
Game 3 of the intense quarterfinal series between Phoenix Coyotes and Chicago Blackhawks is set to begin on Tuesday, April 17, at 6:00 PM ET.
