Chicago Blackhawks sinks Carolina Hurricanes by a staggering 5-2 score to extend its winning streak to 7

to Chicago Blackhawks. Pre All-Star Game weekend, it was below the playoff boundary, but after that, it’s become an unbeatable team, extending its winning streak to seven by defeating Carolina Hurricanes at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, in a savage
5-2 contest.
Both teams had two power-play opportunities but weren’t able to take advantage. The game was slow in the start but fired up in the final period.
Blackhawks’ captain, Jonathan Toews, started of the match in a hurry, scoring the first goal from a wild pass by Patrick Shark who had two assists, within a minute of the start, replied by All-Star, Eric Staal, nearly 6 minutes later to tie the match.
Bryan Bickell scored the final goal in the first 40 minutes with a rebound to a missed shot from Brent Seabrook, again taking the lead at 2-1.
Sharp, Marian Hossa and Chris Campolli had two assists each, while Toews has really taken charge of captaincy, adding goals in his fourth consecutive game, making it a total of six goals and two assists over the time span.
They have helped their team move over Los Angeles Kings and Phoenix Coyotes for 4th place in the Western Conference.
Rookie goalie, Corey Crawford, started off the match for his 10th straight start, making 18 saves while Carolinas Justine Peters might have proved to not being a good start up choice, opening the match for the first time since 18 games that were
started by Cam Ward, making 24 saves.
Both teams had numerous chances in the second, but fate wasn’t on their side.
Toews probably had the biggest chance, when shooting on an empty net with Peters out of position but saved by a Carolina defenseman.
Hurricanes died out in the third period, with Chicago going on a scoring spree.
Ryan Johnson, Dave Bolland, and Patrick Kane scored a goal, each, in the opening 8 minutes, giving their team a 5-1 lead with a little over 10 minutes remaining.
Jeff Skinner got his 23rd of the season at the 12:09 mark, breaking down the lead to 5-2, but wasn’t able to gain ground after that.
It might be the preparations being made by Chicago for their White House meeting with President Barak Obama, where they’ll be honoured for winning the 2010 Stanley Cup on March 11.
