Chicago Blackhawks still missing Centre Dave Bolland, could return later in road trip -NHL News Update
Along with now missing 26-year-old star defenseman, Brent Seabrook, the Chicago Blackhawks will still be playing without their veteran centre, Dave Bolland, who had sustained a leg-injury after attempting to block a shot in a game against the St. Louis Blues
on Tuesday, November 8, 2011.
The Chicago Blackhawks announced that having now missed Bolland for three straight contests, the forward player just might be making a comeback later on in the week as they kick off their six-game road trip, starting off with the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday,
November 16, 2011.
"Hopefully he gets to play in one of the first two games", Chicago Blackhawks head coach, Joel Quenneville, said.
Duncan Keith, Chicago’s other star defender, made a comeback on the team during their contest with Edmonton on Sunday, but as Seabrook made his exit nearly midway through the second period, Keith will be facing more pressure to keep the team running on a
winning momentum.
Without Bolland, Chicago has managed to win the last three contests straight and having him back on the line-up, they are sure to turn around their roster to suit the player, which will certainly make it exciting to see what changes the team will face in
terms of game-play and performance.
"Nothing is ever going to be perfect, even when we are winning", Chicago Blackhawks captain, Jonathan Toews, said. "There are problems and things people want to talk about but none of that matters. At the end of the day, it's about how many points you put
into the win column".
Since Seabrook is announced to be day-to-day, he could also be making a comeback soon, maybe even midway through the road trip series, which will obviously make it much better for the team performance wise.
Having a healthy line-up is always a good thing in the NHL and it will surely count as Chicago currently leads the Western Conference and the league with 25 points.
According to Quenneville, Bolland could be back as soon as Friday, as they will be heading out of Vancouver after facing the Canucks and to Calgary to face-off against the Flames.
