Chicago Blackhawks upset with Patrick Kane's out of control partying -NHL Update
Patrick Kane may just be 23 but his responsibilities being one of Chicago’s top forwards are certainly something he should be more cautious about in his private life. After pictures emerged of Kane wild partying weekend earlier this month at the University
of Wisconsin, the Blackhawks officially came out to address the issue and did not seem happy at all.
Had it been the first time Kane partied hard out open in the public, the same reaction might not have come from various circles around the league, but since the young forward was also arrested back in the summer of 2009 along with another scandal the following
year, Blackhawks had to take action.
Chicago Blackhawks general manager, Stan Bowman, was the one to address the issue on Tuesday during a conference call as they also announced the signings of Johnny Oduya and Jamal Mayers.
"Obviously, we are aware of that situation," Bowman said. "We followed it closely. It was one of those things where we've discussed it with Patrick. We've handled that internally.”
"We're obviously disappointed with how it played it out, and Patrick is aware of that fact. But at this point, it's a private matter. I think, out of respect for Patrick, we're not going to comment further. We're going to look forward and try to focus on
things in improving our team leading into the summer," Bowman added.
Partying is not the issue when it comes to Patrick Kane’s incident. The problem rather stands to be the issue of photos being published all around the media which are not only embarrassing for the player but for the team as well, with one being of him passed
out at a bar.
Hopefully for Chicago Blackhawks, this will be the last incident that Kane is involved in, which other players will also be taking
Patrick Kane, a former first overall draft pick during the 2007 National Hockey League (NHL) Entry Draft has been a pivotal part of the Chicago Blackhawks ever since he was picked up.
Next season needs to be better for the young player as he seemed to have declined last season, having his first year with less than 70 points, which certainly played a factor in Chicago lashing out at him for this incident.
