Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose asks his team to pick up the effort
Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose says his team needs to pick up effort if they hope to out-smart the Atlanta Hawks in the game-5 of their Eastern Conference semi-finals series. The Bulls and the Hawks are presently tied at two games
each, with the series heading to the United Centre for game-5 on Tuesday.
Talking to the media, after attending a light practice session on Monday, Rose urged his team mates to turn on the heat when they play in front of their own crowd.
“If anything, I think that all of us are mad with the effort that we put in the last game, it wasn't good enough. Tomorrow, we're playing back in our building. The atmosphere is going to be unbelievable, and we're just going to
have to play.”
The Bulls were defeated by the Atlanta Hawks 100-88 on Sunday night the Philips Arena in Atlanta. Despite of the fact, Rose scored 34 points in that particular game, Chicago struggled to play as a team. Rose also admitted that
the Hawks’ were better and played hard on Sunday. Rose said, “They just played harder, getting to loose balls, second effort, chasing balls down.”
This postseason has already been full of shocks. The San Antonio Spurs’ and the Los Angeles Lakers, the two titans of the Western Conference have already been knocked out off the title race. The Lakers were swept by the Dallas
Mavericks in the semi-finals while the Memphis Grizzlies ousted the Spurs in the first round of playoffs.
Although the Bulls will be playing on their home court, they will have to be wary of the Hawks, who disposed off the powerful Orlando Magic in the first round. The Hawks’ journey from regular season to play-offs was very impressive
as well and with the 5th seed in the East, they certainly are no pass-overs.
Hawks’ guard Jamal Crawford also spoke out and told the media regarding his teams’ chances in upcoming games. Crawford said, “We do feel like that,". "Sure other teams feel like that as well. Right now, it's just a three-game series.
Who thought we'd be here at this point? ... I like our chances. But I'm sure every other team like theirs as well.”
The Atlanta Hawks’ have been threatening the Bulls with their brilliant ball play and their ability to shield the rim from the Derrick Rose. However, the Chicago Bulls and their newly crowned Most Valuable Player are confident
and determined to give a tough time to the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday.
