Chicago Bulls’ Derrick Rose undergoes MRI scan on his sprained ankle - NBA Play-offs Update
The Chicago Bulls’ superstar, Derrick Rose underwent a Magnetic Resonance Imaging scan on his sprained ankle which he injured during the game against the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night at the Conseco Field-house, Indianapolis.
Rose explained about his injury when he said, “I really can't explain it, I just took off wrong and my weight just pushed over my ankle and it ended up twisting.”
Rose went into the locker-room for early treatment, but came back soon on the court for the rest of the match. Though Rose came back, but he lost his full thrust from his injury and was not looking a hundred percent fit in the rest of the game. On Sunday,
Rose appeared wearing a walking boot before the Bulls’ film session, as he could not participate in the shoot-around after watching the film with his team-mates.
The Bulls’ head coach Tom Thibodeau also told the media about the necessity of Rose’s MRI and commented that this scan was just a precautionary measure. The MRI scan for Rose created quite a buzz regarding his availability for the next game. His injured
ankle has tested negative and all the team members seem very pleased on his improving results.
Chicago was beaten by the Indiana on Saturday and after that particular defeat, the Bulls’ Coach Thibodeau said he was not that confident as to whether this ankle injury has affected Rose or not. Thibodeau said, “It's hard to tell with him. He's so fast.
The way he was attacking ... now he didn't finish as well as he normally does. And he didn't get to the line. I thought as a team, we settled for the three too much.”
All the Bulls’ coaches and players are now very optimistic for Derrick as he will certainly play the next important game against the Pacers on Tuesday night. Game 5 will be a much tougher encounter for the Bulls, as the Pacers have already shown them the
courage of making a tremendous come-back. The Bulls were leading the best of seven first round play-off series before they went into the Saturday’s game as they were beat by the Pacers 89-84.
The Bulls’ point guard C.J Watson was hopeful for Rose as he spoke about his team-mate regarding his chances to play in the next match. Watson said, “I think he's probably, pretty sure, 100 percent going to play, He's probably just a little sore. I'm sure
he's going to play on Tuesday, though.”
Rose is currently averaging an incredible 28.3 points per game for the Bulls, as his availability with full fitness is imperative for them to do well and advance into the next level.
