Chicago Bulls blow away Charlotte Bobcats in a 95-64 win – NBA Recap
With the league’s worst team as their opponent, Chicago Bulls can allow super star Derrick Rose to take some time off especially when the Bulls are doing so well without the reigning NBA MVP. Rose, who is having a sore back, didn’t
play and the Bulls still handed a 95-64 defeat to Charlotte Bobcats.
Joakim Noah recorded a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. He netted 7 of 9 from the floor while Carlos Boozer scored 16 and Luol Deng recorded 12. The 4th player to hit double figures for Chicago was John
Lucas, scoring 11 as the Bulls blazed past Charlotte Bobcats on Friday at Time Warner Cable Arena.
Chicago coach Tom Thibodeau, after Joakim’s dazzling performance, lavished him with praise.
"(Joakim Noah) was great in every aspect tonight. He ran the court. He played with energy. He was able to rebound and anchor the defence and did a nice job passing the ball."
After downing the Bobcats, the Bulls have banked their 14th win on the road and are currently on a 5 game winning streak. On the night, they completely outmatched the Bobcats, who were never able to get level with the
visitors, let alone take a lead.
Chicago netted 43.3% from the floor. Luol Deng, celebrated his all star selection, with 10 of his 12 points in the opening frame that included a pair of key 3-pointers as the Bulls took a 30-16 lead.
"We did a good job out there”. Deng said. “We came out from the start again and took the lead. We're not playing the score and are just working on what we need to do to get better while we're out there."
Chicago continued to pound the hapless Bobcats in the second frame, scoring 26 and keeping the Bobcats at 18. Boozer was brilliant in this segment as he scored 10 of his 16 points. The home side’s frontcourt, novice in size and
experience, simply wasn't able to stop him and, before going into the half time, the Bulls extended their lead to 22, at 56-34.
Chicago never looked back in the third frame and augmented their lead further by pulling a 15-7 run in the mid of the quarter that established an unbeatable 79-47 lead. As the game proceeded into its final segment Bulls were up
79-51.
In the final quarter the Bobcats seemed to have given up. They could hardly make any effort in front of Joakim & Co’s persistent defensive presence, mustering only 64 as the clock expired.
Bobcats turned the ball over 16 times in the game which resulted into 26 points for the Bulls and posed no threat as they lost their 13th game in this shortened season.
Derrick Brown, who netted 10, was the only player to record double figures for Bobcats. Rookie Kemba Walker came up with 9 points on a 2 of 11 shooting, 5 assists and 4 rebounds.
For Bobcats, it looks downhill from this point onwards as they are scheduled to face two more division leaders, Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers, in the next two home games. With the playoffs chances already out of
question, all they can do now is to show some fight.
