Chicago Bulls blow away Indiana Pacers 93-85 - NBA Preseason Recap
On Tuesday night, Indiana Pacers and Chicago Bulls met for the second time in a preseason game. The outcome was the same again as Bulls yet again proved too strong for the Pacers and dominated right from the word go to complete
a convincing 93-85 victory.
Carlos Boozer, who looked a bit rusty in his last outing, led the Bulls with 24 points on an 11 for 17 from inside the arc and 7 rebounds. Luol Deng pounded 14, while the newly acquired vet Richard Hamilton added 13 points, pulled
down 4 rebounds and dished out 6 assists. Last year’s MVP, Derrick Rose continued from where he left last season and scored 12 points whereas Ronnie Brewer chipped in with his 11.
Pacers used their entire bench in this game and only three players managed to end with scores in double figures. With David West looking rusty, reserve power forward Tyler Hansbrough marshalled the Pacers with 24 points and 13
rebounds, whereas Paul George and Danny Granger added 14 and 12 points respectively.
Roy Hibbert scooped up a jumper and Hansbrough followed him with a free throw to get the Pacers off to a 3-0 start. The Bulls responded immediately with a fierce 17-5 spurt to put go ahead by 17-8. Brewer and Joakim Noah then took
over and the Bulls kept a huge lead intact. Only Granger, consistently managed to find the baskets from the other end as Chicago finished the first frame with a 9 point 24-15 lead.
The first few minutes of the second quarter belonged to the Pacers, who outscored the Bulls 17-10 to close in at 32-34. However, 10-0 Chicago run followed which pushed Pacers on the back foot again. The burst was followed by yet
another 9-0 run, bridging the second and the third quarter that took the Bulls advantage to 55-42.
Heading into the final 12 minutes, the Bulls were comfortably placed at 78-66 and the trend continued thereafter. With 4 minutes remaining in the game, the Bulls were well on their way at 91-74 and even an 11-2 Pacers run down
the stretch, did little to trouble the final outcome.
