Chicago Bulls forward Carlos Boozer says their guards will be ready for Miami Heat - NBA Update
The Chicago Bulls back court was the ground zero for the ultimate battle . Miami Heat’s offense was more hostile and aggressive while approaching the rim. The rage took its toll on the Chicago’s players as Dwyane Wade shoved Richard
Hamilton and LeBron James pinned down John LucasIII while Joakim Noah received an inadvertent punch on the chin by James Jones.
So after this ultimate kung-fu showdown Boozer intimidated that this will not be tolerated anymore.
"That's what we expect it to be going forward," Boozer said of the game's physical nature. "As a team we looked it at it and realized we should have been more physical. LeBron (James) and (Dwyane Wade) were trying to be more physical
to our guards, and our guards have to be more physical. And our big men have to have their backs."
The games are getting more intense and physical at the end of regular season, the reason is obvious with higher stakes the players succumb to the pressure and result into flagrant fouls. Same was the case on Thursday night.
Heat were entertaining the hopes of earning the top seed in Eastern Conference and their prime target was the top seeded Bulls. Chicago still leading the race with 1.5 points trailed by as many as 13 points in the 1st
half. They were playing without Derrick Rose and he was missed as they ended up with a double-digit 83-72 defeat.
Heat were also playing with big two (James and Wade) as Chris Bosh missed the game due to injury. But they both sufficed as James netted 27 and Wade tallied 18. They held down the Bulls to 35% shooting and completely dominated
them in the last three frames defensively.
But the game will be remembered for its intensity and it is a good thing that they will have a lot of time to cool down before their meeting, at the end of Eastern Conference finals.
The most epic moment was the exchange of shoves and elbows between two arch rivals Hamilton and Wade, Hamilton held out his elbow and shoulder to make some space and Wade reciprocated the same which sent the Chicago guard on the
ground. They were both given a technical foul each. Wade shared a bigger chunk as he was given plus 1 flagrant foul, he was not happy afterwards.
That was why Boozer said that they will be ready for them next time.
"I know our guards will be up for that challenge and we'll have their backs," Boozer said. "We're on a mission and won't let anybody get in our way.
