Chicago Bulls guard Kyle Korver doubtful on Tuesday

Sharp-shooting guard Kyle Korver will be listed on a day-to-day status with a sore left knee when the Chicago Bulls go up against the Houston Rockets on Tuesday 16 November at the Toyota Center.

Korver, who was acquired by the Bulls as a free agent during the off-season to shore up their outside shooting, underwent an MRI on his knee and missed the team’s practice on Monday 15 November.

“I'm feeling quite a bit better,” said Korver. “I had an MRI and a bone scan Monday, and they said it was a bone bruise and the fatty pad under your kneecap got bruised.”

Although his status remains unclear, the 29-year-old guard said that he will be ready to go if he feels that he can play through the injury to help the Bulls in their pursuit for their fourth-straight victory.

“I'm just waiting for that to heal a little bit,” said Korver. “I'm going to try closeouts drills today, see how that feels and if it's all right, I'm going to try and go. We'll see.”

Korver also added that he sustained the injury when he collided with John Wall during the second quarter of their game against the Washington Wizards on Saturday 13 November. “John Wall went for a layup.
I went to try and contest it and landed on one leg, hyper-extended it during the second quarter,” he said.

The seven-year veteran and former Creighton standout is averaging 8.1 points on 50 per cent shooting from the field and an impressive 57.1 per cent from beyond-the-arc, and without him, the Bulls will have
to make a lot of adjustments in their offence.

“It will hurt us a lot if he's out,” said Bulls point guard and eastern conference player of the week Derrick Rose. “He's a good player that brings a lot of energy and a lot of scoring when he comes in the
game. We need him, but we cannot use that as an excuse. We still got to go out there and play the games.”
