Chicago Bulls looking to lock the top seed in Eastern Conference – NBA Preview
The invincible Chicago Bulls are looking forward to lock the top seed in the Eastern Conference on Friday night against the lowly Cleveland Cavaliers at the Quicken Loans Arena. The Bulls leads the season series 3-0 and are the
favourites to amass their fifth straight victory against the franchise.
Chicago have performed incredibly in their recent games. They defeated the Boston Celtics on Thursday night and gave a strong message to the C’s as to who really is the big boy in the East.
All-Star guard Derrick Rose landed a blistering game-high 30 points to thrash the Celtics out of the game. The sharp-shooter continues to provide fireworks even against the best teams of the league and is showing no signs of retreat.
The playoffs are just round the corner and Rose is becoming a major threat for the top eight teams in both the Conference who led the team on the top single-handedly.
The great thing about Chicago is that they always project on their next games extensively that has made them rather strong.
The Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said after overshadowing Boston. "I'm just thinking about the next one. You guys may think it is a cliché and maybe it is a cliché, but it is what's important. The Cleveland game is just as important
as this game. It's actually more important now because this one is gone. "
The Bulls are marching forward stoutly with the brilliance of Thibodeau and he is one of the major reasons the team is considered as the toughest contender for the championship title this year.
The Bulls are resolutely holding the top spot in the Eastern Conference with 58 victories followed by only 20 defeats. The team carries a strong record on the road and has won 23 games. In the last 10, Chicago has fired on all
cylinders leaving few options for the opposition to gain any sort of momentum. They have won nine games and only lose one against Philadelphia 76ers.
On the Other hand, Cleveland Cavaliers are standing at the last spot in the same Conference with 17 victories and a big number of 61 routs. The Cavaliers have won their recent two games that enabled them to remove the banner of
the league’s worst team. Minnesota Timberwolves who dropped 12 straight games are now the weakest team of the season with 62 defeats.
In the last win 104-96 against Toronto Raptors, J.J Hickson spearheaded the Cavaliers with his 28 points. The team utterly dominated the first half of the game and provided no room to the Raptors to bounce back.
The Friday’s game is very important for both the teams as Cleveland will look forward not to end up as the worst team while Chicago will be charging aggressively to cement the first spot in the East.
The Cavaliers struggled at their home court as well and won only 11 games out of 39 home meetings. Hickson and Baron Davis will be the key player for the home team as they need to provide their best in order to outshine Chicago.
Cleveland has the potential to stun any big team as they did against Miami Heat so the Bulls need to show the same aggression as Chicago’s coach is deeming this game more important than the last one.
