Chicago Bulls new players finding out what makes Tom Thibodeau one of the best coaches in the NBA – NBA News
The Chicago Bulls made some serious changes to the roster during the off-season, bringing in players such as Kirk Hinrich, Nazr Mohammed, Vladimir Radmanovic to name a few. All these players were brought in to replace the Bulls
old bench mob, who moved away to different teams over the course of the summer. And the new additions knew that they were joining a team that was a championship contender waiting for their All Star point guard and team leader Derrick Rose to return from ACL
injury.
However, the newcomers were also aware that they had decided to play for one of the best coaches in the NBA at this moment of time. The Bulls head coach, Tom Thibodeau, is credited with changing the fortunes of the franchise, leading
them to a league best record in his first year and then following that with a league best record in his second year with the Bulls. Thibodeau holds the honour of winning coach of the year award in his first NBA season as Head Coach, during the 2010-2011 season,
and is also credited with turning Derrick Rose into the All Star player that he is. And the new players are now witnessing what it is that makes Thibodeau one of the best coaches in the league.
“I appreciate what he brings. Coach (Rick) Pitino told me before I got here he's a worker. He's one of the coaches who lives in the gym, a basketball junkie. He's here early, stays late,” said veteran Nazr Mohammed about his new
coach.
“It's intense. He expects you to be locked in when you come in the gym. When you're together as a team, time is valuable. So I like that,” said Kirk Hinrich about Thibodeau.
The Bulls roster is being challenged to the limit by their head coach, who feels the team can hold down the fort till the time Rose returns from injury despite what basketball analysts are saying, and expects his team to step up
in this time of need and take the challenge head on by working harder and taking more responsibility.
“Usually, a team is a reflection of its coach. You could tell just from the way this team competed, they were prepared,” summarized Hinrich.
