Chicago Bulls not interested in trading Luol Deng to the Golden State Warriors - NBA Report
Golden State Warriors have made it clear that they would like a good small forward to fill in the slot this season, and the name of Luol Deng has featured in the expected list.
However, according to reports, the Chicago Bulls made it clear that they will not be trading Deng to the Warriors and as things stand now, there is a good possibility that the wingman will not be traded at all.
It was believed that the Warriors will use their number 7 draft pick to rope in the services of Deng, but according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the Bulls have completely ruled out the possibility of trading Deng to GSW.
“The Bulls have privately assured Luol Deng that there's "no chance" of a deal sending him to the Warriors.”
Warriors newly appointed GM Bob Myers has been desperately searching for a seasoned wing player and Loul Deng with Philadelphia 76ers Andre Iguodala were rumoured to be the prime choices for that purpose.
Apart from the number 7th pick, Golden State also have the 30th pick in the 1st round and 35th and 52nd pick in the NBA draft second round. The franchise already has lot of youth on the roster and is willing to trade all of their picks for experienced players from other franchises.
The biggest problem with Warriors is that they don’t have a superstar in their roster and have made into the post season only once in the past 18 years. Will the franchise be able to create any difference is a question that still looms large and his upcoming decision near the draft day will provide his peers with an answer.
Luol recently said that he will not be surprised if the Bulls decide to trade him, but added that he will not get his mind tangled in something he cannot control;
“I believe there is always to some extent truth behind rumours. But as an athlete, if you get caught up in them, you are really wasting your time because it's not something you can control”
The Bulls and Deng have been at odds, due to latter’s insistence to represent Great Britain at the London Olympics this August, despite a pending wrist surgery. A delayed procedure will mean Deng’s absence of at least one month next season and given that Derrick Rose will also be out for half of the season, the Bulls will have their hands full.
