Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose terms the NBA Lockout ‘needless’
Derrick Rose has shown his intent to join the bandwagon and go overseas in case the lockout causes cancellation of upcoming NBA season. However, Rose has still not given up hope of a complete regular season.
"If it does (cancel the season), yes, I am taking into consideration that I might be going overseas but I don't know where, there's a lot of great places overseas but I haven't really gotten time to get details on every place”
Rose said
The youngest player to win a MVP award in the history of NBA, Derrick Rose is emerging as one of the top players in the game. He plays as a point guard for Chicago Bulls and his last season was simply outstanding.
According to sources, Rose has at least one such contract in hand and few others are in the pipeline too. The lockout which is on the cusp of entering its third month has already led to cancellation of preseason games and postponement
of training camps. Chances of season starting on time are fading away with every passing day.
But what is pleasing about all this NBA lockout is that it has brought the players closer. They are all on the same page and more united than ever. At the moment, most of the teams and players are spending the offseason working
out and playing pickup games to stay fit.
In a question and answer session at some elementary school which Derrick attended few days ago, he did not sound too hopeful about the lockout.
"Right now, it's looking pretty tough, but to me I think the lockout is unnecessary," he said.
"There's no reason why billionaires and millionaires should be arguing about money. There are other things in this world that we should be arguing about, but money shouldn't be the problem."
Quite a valid point he made. It is high time NBA officials should realize NBA is not all about money. It is followed by millions around the world and the lockout might push those fans away from the game. Derrick also believes that
cancellation of NBA season will be detrimental to the fans though he is confident Bulls fan following will not suffer much from the lockout.
A bond develops between people when they are working together for a long time and Rose too has also developed it over the years. Rose admitted he misses talking to people at Bulls such as the coaches and other team staff members.
This needless lockout according to Rose is doing nothing but creating animosity between players and the team officials, which in long run can prove to be dangerous.
