Chicago Bulls to unveil bronze bust of Scottie Pippen at United Center on April 7
The Hall of famer Scottie Pippen, who paired up with the legendary Michael Jordan to spearhead Chicago Bulls for six Championships, will be honored with a bronze bust on April 7.
The bronze sculpture of Pippen will be unveiled during a halftime ceremony that will take place at United Center in a game between Boston Celtics and Chicago. The unveiling ceremony will be hosted by Neil Funk and will include
a speech by the superstar followed by a video tribute.
Pippen’s bust has been made by Omri and Julie Rotblatt-Amrany, who also crafted Jordan’s statue that is displayed outside the arena.
Bulls Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf commended Pippen as one of the best players in NBA history and said.
“Not only is Scottie Pippen one of the greatest players to ever wear a Bulls uniform, but he’s among the best players in the history of the league to play the game. He had a tremendous impact in bringing six world championships
to Chicago and there is no better way to pay tribute to him.”
Instrumental in making the Chicago Bulls one of the most formidable teams ever, Pippen appeared in seven All-Star games. He was also one of the best defenders of his era and got into the First Defensive teams several times in his
17 season long career.
It’s a moment of utter success for any player to be honored in this way. The Bulls player was overwhelmed on being recognized as the legend by the franchise and the city, for which he had won so many laurels.
The Hall of Famer was extremely pleased with the honor and said.
“Words really can’t express my feelings. It’s an unbelievable honor and truly amazing. It’s something you dream of as a kid growing up, but you can never foresee those childhood fantasies becoming reality.
The mercurial forward’s No. 33 Jersey has already been retired on December 9, 2005. Pippen’s 12 years stint with the Bulls is a story filled with accomplishment and achievement that any basketball player dreams off. He was the
epitome of a true professional. His presence on the court signified flair and talent and instilled fear into the hearts of his competitors.
The Big man clinched 18940 points and dished out 6135 assists in his illustrious career and was named in the list of 50 greatest players of NBA ever. Pippen was picked as the ambassador of Bulls in July 15, 2010 and continues
to be attached with the team where he had an outstanding basketball Career.
