Chicago Cubs’ Bryan LaHair excited as All-Star Game approaches – MLB News
The Chicago Cubs’ first baseman, Bryan LaHair, said on Monday, July 9 that he was very excited to be a part of the All-Star Game, a day before the big game scheduled to be played on Tuesday. The All-Star Game between the American League and National League will see LaHair in action for the first time in his career.
His excitement is understandable given the fact that he had to toil hard for nine years to make it to the Major League.
"I think I'm the most excited person to be here," LaHair said Monday , expressing his joy and delight for being the part of the National League All-Star team. "I really am. It's just an incredible experience for me to be here with all the legends, the All-Stars, the future Hall of Famers.”
LaHair has all the reason in the world to be buoyed. The 29-year-old has performed outstandingly well this season at a time when the Cubs have not had an impressive stint. The team which has not won any World Series title for over 90 years now is struggling hard to put up a better display this season.
Bryan, it goes without saying, has played a key role in helping the team attain this goal. While he was doing his bit at first base, the team brought Anthony Rizzo and LaHair had to adjust in the outfield.
He has done that successfully. The player has maintained a forward-looking approach throughout the years despite the odds he was confronted by. That has paid off. The reward is to get into the All-Star Game in the very first season of MLB while remaining in Minor League for nine years.
LaHair said, “You feel like you're part of something special and I feel truly blessed to be here. It's an incredible moment for me and my family and I'm going to try to soak up every moment of it.”
He is expected to outperform the rivals in Tuesday’s game considering the consistency he has maintained in 2012. If he does that, he will certainly go down as a unique player in the history of the game.
