Chicago Cubs’ Jason Jaramillo hoping to appear in Cactus League game – MLB News
The Chicago Cubs’ backup catcher Jason Jaramillo expressed his hope on Friday, March 9, to get better and to try and get a place in the team. The strained groin has sidelined Geovany Soto that necessitates the arrival of some backup catcher.
At a time when the season is around the corner, Soto’s fitness is of fundamental importance for the Chicago Cubs. The fact that Jaramillo has had his problems to sort out may add to the difficulties of the team.
However, Jaramillo stated on Friday that he thought he can get through the problem of sore legs. What might have worsened the situation is Jaramillo’s playing with the same problem.
"I thought I could get through it, and it didn't go away," Jaramillo said. "It came to the point where I had to say something and had to get it fixed. Where I'm at is I'm getting a lot better. I'm hoping to get out there soon."
Chicago Cubs are bracing themselves for Saturday’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers in the Cactus League. It will be an interesting game to see considering the fact that the manager of the Cubs, Dale Sveum, was previously associated with the Brewers.
It is for this reason that many players, not to mention the ever avid fans of the sport and the Cubs, are looking forward to the game. Jaramillo, who is aspiring to be backup catcher for the Cubs, is optimistic that he will get a chance to play.
"I'm optimistic I can go out there and show them what I've got," said Jaramillo. "I know what I can do. I just have to get out there."
Cubs are coming in this season with a lot of transformation. They had barely been able to win many games the past season, losing over 90, that caused huge discontent in and around the camp. This year, however, the team is looking to turn things around and
hopefully get some success on the field.
Once the season gets going, it will be the essentially different Cubs that everyone will be looking at. With hopes ever high, the Cubs will try to live up to the expectations of the fans.
