Chicago Cubs could be potentially eyeing free agent Prince Fielder -MLB Update
Many teams are on the lookout to possibly grabbing Prince Fielder and the Chicago Cubs were not one of those clubs that had their eyes elsewhere, but now according to latest reports, they have more rigorous plans of securing the player on their roster for
the upcoming 2012 Major League Baseball (MLB) regular season.
On the other hand, when contacting Cubs general manager, Jed Hoyer, he referred to the idea of Chicago eyeing Prince Fielder as ‘Overblown” and somewhat overrated, but with recent indications that the team is looking towards plan B after the exit of Albert
Pujols, the 27-year-old first baseman does not seem to be a bad option to fill up some empty spots here and there.
Prince Fielder is definitely looking to make it big in the future and his agent Scott Boras wants to makes sure that happen.
"I've had people come out (and say) 'Oh, you ought to do a three-year deal,'" Boras said. "Well, that doesn't fit anybody's purposes in doing these things. The length of a contract has a lot to do with an understanding from both sides about what franchise
players are and what they mean, the branding part, the whole media rights part. … All those things go into it.
Hoyer on the other side wants to refer to the Cubs building plan as something that includes younger talent but by the looks of the free agent market that is slowly drying up, Chicago just might have that many options left, making Fielder a must grab for
them or any other team around the nation.
"I'm kind of in the musical chairs game," agent Scott Boras said confidently about his client landing a landmark contract in the upcoming days. "I kind of find I only need one chair."

Following Prince Fielder over the six-years of experience that he has can tell a person that the 27-year-old is definitely one of the best to fill up such positions in the league.
Only time will be able to tell whether the Chicago Cubs will be making their move on the highly in-demand free agent or not.
