"I just went around to everybody and thanked them for everything they did, I appreciate it. They're ready to go home. It's been a long season," interim manager Tony DeFrancesco said on his team’s performance in detail.
Tony DeFrancesco added, “I was comfortable in the clubhouse talking to the players and dealing with Jeff in the front office, everybody's been very warm to me. I'm really proud to be a part of this."

Cubs’ experienced and talented batters literally outclassed the Astros' pitchers as they dominated them for a good victory at the end of the regular season.
First baseman Bryan LaHair scored one run and smashed two hits along with two RBIs. He played well and showed his class on five at-bats. He hammered the Astros' pitchers with great force and remained consistent on his persistent slugging percentage of .450.
"A lot of hard work was put in this year, unfortunately, the record didn't say that, but just to finish the season with a win, it's always fun to do that," LaHair said.
Along with batters, the Cubs' pitchers also played well and earned a great victory for their team. It was a well fought victory in which the Cubs’ pitchers showed their true offensive game and battered the Astros with great force.
Travis Wood started the game for the Cubs and played beautifully on his over six innings spell. He received one run and three hits on his consistent 4.27 ERA. He struck-out four while his overall pitching rattled the Astros in style.
Not only Wood, but closing pitcher Shawn Camp also played well for his team. He supported Travis with his short spell of one inning, but he still managed to strike-out one on his consistent 3.59 ERA.
