Question:

Chicago Cubs fans: What is up with Carlos Zambrano? ?

Last Saturday he goes out against the St. Louis Cardinals, and gives up like what 9 runs all of them earned. And tonight, even through I didn't watch him, he has another bad outing, and he gives up 5 runs on 4 hits. So I must ask what is going on with Carlos Zambrano? And are your dreading his next start, with who knows how many runs he will give up? Is he just getting too excited? What do you think is going on with him?

  1. Just be glad he is getting "the bad stretch" out of the way in August & not October

Are you even a Cubs fan? i've read alot of anti Cubs / not believing in your post & you have a HUGE Cubs fan / contact of mine blocked

  2. He will be fine..I'm pretty sure he would try to bounce back the next time he starts for the Cubs and would be strong again...

Probably something is just bothering him.

  3. he is cold it is ok though he will get back to normal i  like a start or two

  4. I think he is just having a couple bad games and like others mentioned, dropping his arm and his mechanics are off.  Hopefully Rothschild (Cubs Pitching Coach) will work with him a little, get it corrected on his days off and he will be back to the Carlos Zambrano we know by next start.

  5. He is dropping his arm angle a little bit and his pitches are starting to flatten out. He might still be sore, that is why he his lowering his arm angle a bit. It is a ll mechanical. He will be okay.

  6. The guys a jerk. Hopefully they will send him to the Tigers. They deserve him. It's too bad he has to be a Cub. I really have no use or respect for the young man.

  7. no nothing is wrong with him. if you take away his one bad inning he gave up 1 run in 5 innings. and i'm not dreading zambrano's next start, he's the ace, even aces struggle from time to time.

  8. A big part of Zambrano's problem is that he falls behind too many batters.  He walks too many hitters, which in turn leads to more runs when he does give up hits.  This seems to shake him up and I think he has a hard time refocusing.  This is just my two cents.

  9. He is overrated.

  10. He'll be okay. Just a little bumpy right now and it happens to everyone. Next start I expect him to be himself.

  11. I think he caught a bit of "Harang" virus.

  12. To drunk365, how is Zambrano overrated? every pitcher has bad outings.

Don't worry, Zambrano will be fine. You also have to look at the bright side of things. He had 5 solid innings apart from the inning he gave up 4 runs. He'll bounce back. His next start will be good. He's dropping his arm and he just needs to work on it.

  13. Hey man, We have all noticed it. August is his bad month. Hopefully he can turn it around and be able to bully the Reds on Thursday.
