Chicago Cubs finalized agreement with outfielder Nate Schierholtz – MLB Update

The Chicago Cubs have finalised a one year worth $2.25 million deal with former Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Nate Schierholtz. The Cubs were already searching for a left-handed hitter and now they signed a good and experienced left-handed hitter who
will field in right field.
Nate last played for the Philadelphia Phillies and showed consistent performances. He achieved good numbers and went hitting at .257 along with six homers, 21 RBIs and .321 OBP. Overall he possesses five-year Major League Baseball experience and has been
playing in biggest baseball league in the world since 2007.
His career stats are also consistent at .270 hitting average along with 24 home runs, 123 RBIs and .319 OBP. For over the past five years, Nate has been showing his consistence performances and inspiring many.
“I was just looking for an opportunity to prove that I can play every day, and I didn't get the feeling I was going to get it in San Francisco all these years," Schierholtz said.
With some experienced players’ signings, the Cubs now feel more confident and going smooth to compete well in the next big event. Recently their star first baseman Anthony Rizzo is also busy in offseason activities.
A former Cancer survivor Rizzo has recently attended a gathering where he came to show his support to a school teacher Ronit Reoven whose kid is suffering from Hodgkins Lymphoma. Not only Rizzo gave hope to that school teacher but he also explained how important
is to remain positive in these type of situations.
“Every day, I'd go onto the computer and check his stats from the previous day's game, but he hadn't played in two or three games. I called him and said, 'Anthony, why aren't you in the lineup?' He said, 'Are you sitting down?' I said, 'Yeah, I'm sitting
down.' He said, 'I have cancer.' It blew me away -- everybody was devastated,” Rizzo's high school coach, Frank Pisani siad.
Rizzo played well in the recent past season with the Cubs and achieved consistent results of .285 hitting average along with 15 home runs, 48 RBIs and .342 OBP.
