Chicago Cubs hammered by Milwaukee Brewers 0-8 – MLB Update
The Milwaukee Brewers edge past the Chicago Cubs 8-0 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, June 6 at Miller Park in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
With this win, the Brewers have levelled the series 1-1 with one game still to play on Thursday. The first game of the series was won by the Cubs’ 10-0 after four consecutive losses.
Chicago Cubs who are facing one of their worst records in the Major League knows how difficult is to get out of this kind of poor form, taking some drastic measures towards bringing their franchise once again in title contenders’ race but somehow their all
strategies are not giving them true value of their desired efforts.
Coming into this game, they Cubs again could not read the Brewers’ offensive game and lost bitterly in the end.
Brewers’ starter Zack Greinke was exceptional on the mound with seven scoreless innings and with only two hits. He also struck-out 12 Cubs talented batters and maintained his consistent 3.13 ERA.
"You wake up in your bed, and you don't have to go anywhere to get your breakfast and coffee, And sometimes in the hotels, they have bad coffee or something, so you have to go do other stuff. I was mad about it, probably, for a couple innings, because I
threw so many pitches that inning." Greinke said after the game in detail about the performance he put up to give his team an opportunity to level the series.
Later the Brewers’ manager Ron Roenicke stated of Greinke, who virtually outplayed the Cubs in his seven innings spell.
He said, "We always talk about the confidence, when you're home and when you're on the road, He has great confidence here."
Though the Cubs’ lost this particular game, but still they have a fair chance to comeback in the competition with more flare if they start performing with new energy.
Currently they are at bottom in the National League Central with mere .322 winning percentage but if they able roe their win percentage to .500 then the Cubs have a real chance to play in the coming playoffs.
