Chicago Cubs’ skipper Mike Quade gives advice to Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura
The Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura is new in the franchise. Having no past managerial experience, Ventura is currently making a viable plan for the team to put-up a good show next season.
On the other hand, recently, media reported that Chicago Cubs’ skipper Mike Quade has some important suggestions for White Sox manager as he thinks Ventura is still a long way behind in Major League Baseball to learn the tricks of the trade. He also admired Ventura as someone who has played in New York’s baseball team in the past.
Quade said, “Inherently, you know that, but no truer words were ever spoken. Robin had a playing career in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles. He did them all. While it’s different managing, now you’re in charge of your performance and 25 guys. The workload goes up,”
He added, “But Chicago is different than a lot of cities because of the sheer volume of media. Because as a player he has dealt with you guys a lot. I don’t know how he handled stuff as player but that’s obviously one of the challenges in Chicago. What I know of him, he’s been there, done that.”
If comparing the level of experience both managers have, then it will be true to say that Quade is certainly right in saying Ventura needs time to adjust in the Major League environment. Quade, who has almost 17 years of Minor League managerial experience, knows how to manage at that high level. Particularly in baseball, the manager has an important job. A manager goes through with precise precision at every aspect of the game before every Major League match.
In the meanwhile, Ventura, having relatively no experience at all with managing with any MLB team in the past, somehow feels that he possesses the right ability to lead the White Sox franchise next season. Even the entire White Sox management is giving him huge support for the upcoming season. The next regular season is approaching fast and experts believe that being junior to Mike Quade in managing any professional team, Ventura will be looking to work on his suggestions as this will make his job easier.
