http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vancouver-Whitecaps-FC-c40870 won the week-20 Major League Soccer fixture against Chicago Fire at the Empire Field on Sunday, August 7.
The Fire entered the game looking to end their two-month long victory draught, against a much weaker team in the league. However, the match turned out to be a defensive nightmare for the Firemen, who gave away four easy goals en route to a 4-2 loss to the
home team.
The match started in the Caps favour as Fire’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sean-Johnson-c32690 to open the scoring, in only the second minute
of the game.
Head coach Frank Klopas had much to say about the nightmare start his team made.
“We scored two goals but we just made too many mistakes. You make mistakes like that and you’re not going to win, especially when you give up four goals on the road.”
According to skipper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Logan-Pause-c22387, Hassli was in the driving seat throughout the game. Given his physique and skill set, the Frenchman always finishes any half chances provided to him.
“He’s just a beast, not only holding balls up, but unbelievable finisher and you saw that today, especially his first goal,” Pause said. “He is definitely a handful.”
The visitors gave away chances throughout the 90-minute stretch and the Caps were made to look like the best team in the world. Cuesta continued to have a nightmare of a game and dragged http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Camilo-c8287 down in the penalty area. The referee pointed to the spot but
the penalty-kick was saved by Johnson to keep the score line intact.
Johnson, despite making the save on the penalty area, was far from being happy with the team performance.
“Defensively it wasn’t collectively out best game, including myself,” the goalkeeper said.
The player urged his teammates to focus on the upcoming 12 games and regarded each one of those as a must win if the team is to make it to the MLS playoffs.
