Chicago White Sox Adam Dunn and Alex Rios tune up for the next season – MLB News
The Chicago White Sox players especially Adam Dunn and Alex Rios are tuning up well for the next Major League Baseball season and currently practicing hard in this year’s Spring Training in Arizona. Adam Dunn and Alex Rios are making some news as well with their well crafted efforts in Cactus League.
“They're all in tune, all back to basics," says first-year batting coach Jeff Manto, noting positive early results.”
Later Manto especially said for Rios and his extraordinary game that has now developed with great perfection, "Alex (Rios) is another guy we're just trying to get in the right direction ahead of next season. There's more there. Maybe he got away from it. But his batting practice and his preparation has been great. He's definitely going to have a great season."
Both Dunn and Rios are good players and are playing well for the White Sox. Dunn joined the White Sox last year from Washington Nationals and Alex Rios is playing since 2009. Last year, both were under criticism of not showing any impressive results finishing with very bad stats, but this year they are looking in good spirits and expressing in great detail about the optimistic side of the future.
Dunn has said, "(2011) would be completely out of my head if people didn't consistently bring it up, I'm in a great place and ready to get 2012 started soon so people will talk about 2012, not 2011.”
Adam Dunn had a slightly lower average last year as he achieved hitting percentage on 1.59 along with 11 home-runs, 42 RBIs and .292 OBP. Overall his career hitting average of .243 with 365 homers, 922 RBIs and .374 is much better if compared to number of years he has been playing in the Major League.
On other hand, Rios also could not achieve good numbers last season. He finished with .227 at hitting average, 13 home-runs, and 44 RBIs with .265 OBP. However, not only these players are making some great roar in this Spring Training, but both are also determined to do well in the upcoming season and showing much optimism ahead on next big event in the League which will automatically help the White Sox to play with more confidence.
