Chicago White Sox GM Kenny Williams confirms offseason trade – MLB Update
The Chicago White Sox general manager Kenny Williams has confirmed regarding some of their potential players’ trade in this offseason. On Saturday night, speaking to a renowned sports channel, Williams said,
“If we are going to move some of our talented players it will be for major league ready talent so they can grow with this nice nucleus we have in (Dayan) Viciedo and (Tyler) Flowers and (Alejandro) De Aza who came in and played hard, We have a nice young
movement going on here.”
He further stated that the White Sox are willing to obtain more talent from the league and without getting into trade, we cannot bring more talent. According to sources, the White Sox management will not be trading their players more actively but will see
options according to their needs. The one player in-particular, outfielder Carlos Quentin is the primary option for the White Sox and Kenny Williams to take offers regarding his trade from other Major League Baseball (MLB) franchises.
The two-time MLB All-Star, Quentin has relatively good experience in the league. Playing professional baseball for the past five years, Quentin can be a potential player for many franchises. His 34 walks with .499 slugging average and career high 31 doubles
this past season, makes him one of the best players among all the Major League leaders. His batting average of .254 also remained consistent in the regular season with 24 home-runs and 77 RBIs.
The White Sox, who struggled in the recent season with their disappointing performance down the stretch in the 2011 competition, can use Quentin as a revenue generating example in order to bring some other players for their future season If, one player alone
can give them as much money that they will easily give them the freedom to bring two or three players into their roster, the White Sox management will certainly think to involve Carlos Quentin in a possible trade.
Chicago will be looking to trade some of their players in the offseason to make room for newer players that they can build around for the next few seasons.
