Chicago White Sox GM Kenny Williams expects great results next season – MLB News
The Chicago White Sox who are undoubtedly in a transition process after losing a long time extraordinary starting pitcher Mark Buehrle, somehow getting some confidence back as their whole management was gathered at the annual SoxFest annual event.
The entire management was agreed saying the next Major League regular season is going to be one of the most enthralling in the recent history of White Sox franchise. The teams new manager Robin Ventura along with general manager Kenny Williams was present to show some deep anticipation for the entire roster.
Williams on the other hand seemed more determined saying his team will put-up a superior performance in the coming season. He added and explained with more self-belief, “If we hit, we will compete in our division, it kind of comes with the territory, and I like our team evidently a lot better than some others. We got a starting pitching staff that I’m confident in. We’ll play good defence.”
Williams said, “We got a lot of bullpen options and a lot of young guys filtering in the starting rotation and the bullpen. We’re ­going to need some bounce-back from our veteran guys if we’re ­going to compete. We don’t get it; we’re not going to compete. These are just the facts at hand.”
Kenny also highlighted the point of having a good pitcher in the team is somehow a blessing for any struggling franchises especially for bottom half of the National and American Leagues. Williams directly linked this statement with their long time veteran starter Mark Buehrle, who has now joined the Miami Marlins after playing almost ten years in the White Sox roster since starting his career in 2000.
Later, Williams especially talked about Alex Rios and Adam Dunn. These two players are exceptionally talented and will be the focal point of every White Sox fan next season. Williams was extremely happy for these two particular individuals who will be performing at their best whenever the next season gets under-way.
Rios, who played tremendously in 2011 hitting a total 1187 hits along with 162 stolen bases, 536 RBIs, 118 home-runs and .275 batting average, is certainly acclaimed by many baseball pundits for his consistent performance.
