Chicago White Sox GM Kenny Williams explains why attendance at U.S. Cellular Field is important
The White Sox general manager Kenny Williams from start of the 2012 Major League Baseball season is under huge pressure to address in public about the salary related issues of the players.
Now some media reports have revealed that Williams who wants to improve the current earnings of White Sox’s players, is intending this potential change to attendance at U.S. Cellular Field which is a home field of South Chicago Baseball franchise.
He spoke officially to a media personal and told him about the direct relation of salaries and the revenue generation processes while attendance is one of those processes as well.
“Whether they’re here or not, we’re still going to look at potential places where we can improve the club, But you have to be careful with that because once guys start to believe in themselves as a unit … you’ve got to be careful to disrupt that chemistry. Right now, it’s pretty good.” Williams said in the media and explained his views on his team’s potential transformation on salary packages for next and current MLB season.
Williams added with confidence, “We gave away some games over the last week and a half, and it’s unfortunate because we could have put some distance between ourselves, It is what it is, and it’s part of the grind, and you’re going to have these stretches. That’s the bad news.”
During his conversation with the media personal, he talked also about different topics and explained his current position.
Williams also described that his current intensions are to smooth the way forward for his team which is playing top class baseball at the moment.
The White Sox GM also talked about his player John Danks who has been diagnosed with grade I tear in his shoulder. He stated that this is his injury is a worrying moment for the White Sox’s entire management.
Danks who is a good veteran player has been placed on disabled list with no clear time frame of return.
In the meanwhile, the GM and the other entire management is keeping their fingers closed for their potential player’s return.
