Chicago White Sox GM Kenny Williams less optimistic on Mark Buehrle’s return – MLB News
Where many Chicago fans including some White Sox top executives are thinking positive regarding Mark Buehrle and his future, there are still many including GM Kenny Williams who think that he will not be coming back into the very franchise where he started
off his professional baseball career.
White Sox general manager was present at the annual Major League Baseball GM meeting in Milwaukee and stated in the media with less optimism for Buehrle’s return in the White Sox. He was pretty confident to discuss Buehrle and his professionalism as well
as his intentions to carry forward his career to a new beginning.
Williams said, “There’s much more than we are going to miss every fifth day, if it comes down to that he’s not here, we’ve got to make the adjustment. When you talk about teammates, good teammates, supportive teammates, guys who have fun in the game, know
when to be serious, know when to check somebody but know when to make somebody laugh, this is the guy you want.”
Recently, Buehrle had received an offer from the Miami Marlins, but this offer is still in the air especially from the pitchers prospective. He himself is not sure over his future. The people close to him including his agent are suggesting other things and
baseball experts think he should move on and try to make a name in some other team in the league other than the White Sox.
Buehrle, on the other hand, knows his game and is trying to add-up his past experience in his next decisions that will eventually smooth the way forward.
Mark’s relationship with Kenny Williams is also very significant as they both share the same level of enthusiasm for the White Sox. Many people witnessed when Mark Buehrle played his final game with the White Sox this season against the Toronto Blue Jays
on Tuesday September 27, 2011 at U.S. Cellular Field. Kenny Williams specially attended that particular game and paid his acknowledgements to Buehrle, who gave so much joy to the White Sox and their loyal fans over the course of 11 years.
