Chicago White Sox beat Los Angeles Dodgers 3-1 – MLB Spring Training

Chicago White Sox secured an easy 3-1 win over Los Angeles Dodgers at the Camel Ranch in Glendale, Arizona in their Cactus League encounter of the 2012 Major League Baseball Spring Training Session.
While the Dodgers will not be very happy with their 1-3 loss to the White Sox, they seem to be on the right track ahead of the regular season. With just four spring games left for them, the Dodgers will be hoping to finalise their best hitting and pitching
combinations.
The Dodgers will be competing with Arizona Diamondbacks at Camelback Ranch on Sunday before departing for a three match exhibition series against Los Angeles Angels next week. Dodgers’ manager Don Mattingly seems to be quite content with what his team has
managed to manufacture during this spring and he will be hoping to cheer up the fans with similar results throughout the year.
"I feel like we are pretty much ready," said Dodgers manager Don Mattingly.
"This time of year, you just need to stay healthy," he added.
For the White Sox, Chris Sale allowed just one run and struck out seven in six solid innings. Sale struck out Matt Kemp and last year’s National League MVP runner up Matt Thornton to dent Dodgers’ confidence levels.
"It would concern me if he took it half-heartedly," Mattingly said of Kemp. "Obviously, I would like him to be hitting and not striking out. But he has been asking me for more at-bats."
Trayce Thompson hit a towering home run and Ted Lilly, who is third on Dodgers’ pitching rotation, missed his last scheduled spring game due to neck stiffness.
"That's a good sign," said Mattingly, who decided to wait a day on the decision. "We want to make the right decision. We want him feeling good and ready."
The White Sox will be very pleased with the way they have performed in their last few spring training games. After making a very shaky start to their spring campaign, they are finally getting some positive results. It will be interesting to see if the White
Sox can continue their impressive run to reach the playoffs.
