Chicago White Sox beat Texas Rangers 5-4 – MLB Recap
The Chicago White Sox defeated the Texas Rangers 5-4 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, July 4 at U.S. Cellular Field in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
White Sox played aggressive throughout the game and kept the Rangers under pressure.
The Rangers went early into a lead with three quick runs but the White Sox bounced back with style and eventually won the game with a one run advantage.
"For me you try to describe to people the importance of Youk coming over. That at-bat really describes it the best, he is 0-2, he is grinding and it's just continuous and that is the kind of stuff is infectious throughout the lineup for us, just grinding
out at-bats, It's good for everybody to see that. We have a lot of young guys. It's good for them to see it, but it shows just how good of a player he is." White Sox manager Robin Ventura said in detail.
The entire White Sox roster played well and earned a great victory. With this win, the Chicago side has also won the series 2-0 with one game to spare. Not only the batters but the White Sox pitchers also performed tremendously.
Starter Dylan Axelrod despite receiving some heavy hits, held the Rangers giving only four runs and four earned runs. He struck-out two as his ERA remained consistent at 4.91.
On the other hand, the Rangers’ starter Scott Feldman could not save the game for his team. He pitched six innings and received six hits, four runs and four earned runs. He struck-out four White Sox batters but his ERA rose to 6.11.
These recent losses are not a healthy sign for the Rangers. They are a good side and their position in the American League also suggests that they are going smooth in the season. However, they will not like to lose their top position in the AL West to second
place Los Angeles Angels due to these late poor performances.
It will be interesting to see how the Rangers manage to pick their game-play and add some confidence to their line-up. The White Sox will be looking to carry their winning momentum forward in their next series.
