Chicago White Sox closing pitchers still a mystery to many – MLB News
The Chicago White Sox might have entered into 2012 Major League Baseball season with high hopes to do well against their all opponents in the division as well in the entire league, but they still have to take couple of final decisions to further carry forward the offence.
News is coming from different inside sources that one particular decision on the final closing pitching rotation is the most important one at the moment, but it seems that not only the White Sox top management is still confuse, but it also seems that they were not accurate when they announced their entire pitching rotation some two weeks ago during the MLB Spring Training in Arizona’s Cactus League.
The main individual who is currently in-charge of all the players is new team manager Robin Ventura, but he still is not prepared with all the right solutions to unfold all the closing pitchers without knowing the level of impact they will bring in the near future.
Some Major League experts along with White Sox’s couple of relievers lately also have stated in the media and told the media personals that Ventura still needs some time to settle down.
"(Ventura) hasn't seen us live a lot so he can watch video or talk to people about what I've done or what Jesse has done," Thornton said. "We don't have a large sample size on Santiago, Reed or (Nate) Jones. At the same time, he wants to see for his own eyes. Whatever it is now might not be in a month or two months, depending on situations or what he feels is best for the team. You're going to see pieces through our lineup, field and pen moving in and out and rotating around."
For many this above statement carries no serious weight as how can a player judge an experienced manager, but some experts argue that Thornton is right in his say as Robin Ventura needs some time to understand all the players of the team before expecting anything big from him that will also be unrealistic especially at beginning of the season.
