Chicago White Sox crush Cleveland Indians 11-0 – MLB Recap
Chicago White Sox crushed the Cleveland Indians 11-0 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Monday, October 1 at Progressive Field in Cleveland.
"It's always frustrating, but I told everyone we should walk out of here with our heads held high, Nobody thought we would do anything this year, but to be in it until Oct. 1st and have a chance, we did everything we could,” White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski said.
He added, “We don't have to look back and say we could have done this or we could have done that because at the end of the day, we gave everything we could and did everything we could possibly do. We were in the position we wanted to be in and it just didn't work out."
It was a well fought victory for the White Sox as they hammered the Indians’ offence with big force.
Stretching a healthy lead, the White Sox defended their huge score with intelligence and never showed any loop-holes in their game.
Their batters and pitchers played aggressively and did not give a chance to the Indians’ to take control of the game at any point of play.
White Sox upfront batting line-up played a key role in their team’s win. They hammered the Indians’ pitchers with great determination and rattled them in style.
Centre fielder Dewayne Wise played well with his exceptional two runs and two hits. He played offensively and maintained his persistent slugging percentage at .435.
Kevin Youkilis added one run and smashed one hit on his five at-bats. He also played well and provided the White Sox some great stability from start of the play which eventually proved fruitful for his team.
Designated hitter Adam Dunn smashed two hits and scored one run along with two RBIs on his four at-bats. Dunn kept the Indians’ pitchers under pressure on his persistent .472 slugging percentage.
Along with batters, the White Sox pitchers also played well and earned a great victory for their team.
Starting pitcher Hector Santiago pitched seven solid innings and received one hit. He pitched aggressively and did not give any run on his 3.33 ERA.
