Chicago White Sox crush Cleveland Indians 12-6 – MLB Recap
The Chicago White Sox crushed the Cleveland Indians 12-6 in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Sunday, May 27 in 2012 Major League Baseball season and won the series 3-0.
First base Paul Konerko played well for his team and contributed four RBIs and two runs.
"It's probably the thing I'm proud of most, more than any numbers, I'm proud of that one fact of just being here as long as I have." Paul Konerko said on his superb performance.
Indians' manager Manny Acta also commented on Konerko’s performance as he said, "Paul Konerko is just a professional hitter and he has been for years, There's only so much you can do. He's a good one."
Later Gordon Beckham said of Konerko as he was the only player behind his team’s win, "He's figured something out. The last three years it just seems like he's been unbelievable. It's fun to run out on the field every day with him, that's for sure."
Second base Gordon Beckham also supported his teammate’s contribution and proved a healthy factor for his team’s win. He finished in his four at bats earning three runs and four hits.
Indians' pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez proved no good on Sunday as he was hammered with seven runs and seven hits. He also gave seven earned runs and a homer.
"Ubaldo didn't throw enough strikes and had a tough time putting hitters away," Acta said.
On the other hand, the White Sox starter Gavin Floyd pitched well in his five innings’ spell as he gave five runs and struck out four Indians’ batters.
In the meanwhile, this win has given the White Sox a positive confidence to top the American League East Division which Cleveland Indians are holding at the moment.
The Indians with 26-21 win loss record along with .553 winning percentage. The gap between the Indians and the White Sox is quite close with one game’s difference however; if the White Sox do secure a good win against the Tampa Bay Rays, they will outdo the American League East Division leaders.
