Chicago White Sox designated hitter Adam Dunn out from lineup – MLB News
The Chicago White Sox designated hitter Adam Dunn was dropped from their batting line-up due to an oblique strain.
Dunn, with most number of home-runs is currently leading the American League but could not play on Saturday against the Detroit Tigers after suffering some internal muscle injury.
Though the team management has not said anything in the media about how long Dunn will be out from the line-up. However, later the White Sox veteran DH commented in the media and said, "I'm expecting to be back (Sunday), I'm staying back with (trainer) Herm Schneider and try to knock out as much as we can. We got an 8 o'clock start, so hopefully that extra hour we  can do something."
Dunn added, "It was pretty bad, I woke up and was hoping it was just kind of the same as yesterday. It wasn't. I tried to hit just now, and it wasn't too good. If this was life death, I would probably go out there and try, I guess. We got a lot of games left, so I don't want to be too stupid."
According to some recent reports, Dunn has also mentioned in the media that he was feeling uncomfortable since Wednesday when he batted against the Baltimore Orioles. He explained that while swinging the bat, he felt bad regarding muscle tightness which later became serious.
According to some inside White Sox sources, Dunn has never suffered this type of injury and this is surely a bad sign for the franchise.
Before missing out on Saturday, Dunn was playing quite nicely. He not only did very well in the first half of the season, but he was also playing well in the second half.
His presence in the roster has won many games while his consistent performance on the other hand, proved the White Sox supreme in their own Division.
Before injury, Dunn was playing with .205 hitting along with 38 homers, 88 RBIs and .337 OBP.
Meanwhile, his 11 year career and .240 hitting average, 403 homers, 1010 RBIs and .371 OBP has also proven that he is among one of the best players around in the league.
