Chicago White Sox designated hitter Adam Dunn shows optimism ahead of next Major League season
The Chicago White Sox outfielder and designated hitter Adam Dunn is hopeful for his team’s chances next season for achieving a better potential result comparing with last year’s humiliating streak of defeats before the postseason.
He was present at the annual SoxFest event on Saturday along with some other team-mates and commented in the media with full excitement regarding the White Sox preparations for the 2012 Major League Baseball regular season and improvements that are still in process. He explained having highlighting his own prospective in addition.
Dunn said, “That’s what we’re expecting. I’m going in this year feeling as good as I’ve felt in a long time and just ready to get started and quit talking about it. It doesn’t matter where you go; everyone is talking about [2011].”
Adam added, “We made two pretty good moves. That was hopefully getting me and Alex back. That’s the way I’m looking at it. We pretty much have the same team. We lost a couple of key players [Mark Buehrle, Carlos Quentin, and Sergio Santos]. We have guys capable of stepping in and filling that role and do a little better.”
Dunn rightly stated that Mark Buehrle, Carlos Quentin and Sergio Santos were certainly proven champions and in their absence some burden has diverted on some of the junior players, but on the whole, the White Sox still can hold-back the competition in their own division.
Adam, who played relatively good last season achieving .159 hitting average along with 11 homers, 42 RBIs and OBP of .292, was looking more determined on the night when he spoke in-front of the media.
Having achieved a career .423 hitting average with total 365 home-runs, 922 RBIs and consistent OBP of .374, Dunn certainly has a huge chance next year to improve his record towards more excellence.
Looking at the present White Sox rotation, Dunn also appreciated the management’s late role in gathering the entire team on a single slogan to give their best whatever the circumstances are next year. He also commented on the upcoming training sessions as these are the first step towards achieving above mentioned goals.
