Chicago White Sox ease past Seattle Mariners 9-8 – MLB Recap
The Chicago White Sox ease past the Seattle Mariners 9-8 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Friday, August 24 at U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago.
White Sox played aggressive from the start of the game and won in the end. They kept the Mariners under pressure during the entire game and earned a decent win.
"From the lowest of lows to the highest of highs in about a two-minute span, It was fun. Obviously it was a huge win, not only for the way that it happened because of everything that's going on with the pennant race and everything. It's a huge team win. We feel bad because of the way we blew it, but you feel great because of the way we won it," catcher A.J. Pierzynski said.
Later White Sox manager Robin Ventura said, “It's a nice win to a horrible loss to a good win again. It's just good for the guys to go out there and battle back when it looks bleak."
Though both teams showed resistance until the last inning but the White Sox proved more determined as they won in style with a one run advantage.
