Chicago White Sox first-baseman Adam Dunn ready ahead of 2012 season – MLB News
The Chicago White Sox first-baseman Adam Dunn is planning to make a drastic step forward for the next Major League season after performing poorly last season.
Dunn, who had a relatively low season in 2011 with .159 hitting, 11 home-runs, 42 RBIs and .292 OBP, certainly wants to change these stats for his career tally.
For his poor performance last season, he even mentioned in the media in the recent past stating positively for the future as well. Dunn also mentioned about his strong points and on which he will be emphasising more to get some extra competitiveness.
Dunn explained, “People assume I can't hit for average. I've hit for average all my life, until I got up here. It's not because I can't. It's because people have tried to get me to hit more homers. I'll hit even more home runs when I'm hitting the way I can.” “I hope so. I didn't think it was going to be like that for a while. But with new ownership coming in and it seems like they're committed to not just competing, but winning, I'm on board for that.”
Despite Dunn’s last year’s poor performance, he is still considered one of the best first-basemen in the League leaving behind some of the most experienced MLB professionals. Having ten years of huge experience, Dunn has played for the Cincinnati Reds along with Arizona Diamondbacks and Washington Nationals and never showed any loop holes.
Talking about next year’s potential chance, his presence has always made things difficult for the opposition and this fact is also known to the White Sox top management. The White Sox new manager Robin Ventura and general manager Ken Williams has also showed their support for Dunn. Both understand that the White Sox are in transition period and Dunn is one of those players who possess quality to reduce the current roster evolution pressure.
Some new players will also be joining Dunn in the next potential season as this combination can rattle other MLB teams in the near future as well. His experience and new players’ energy will be making things more difficult for the Chicago White Sox division teams.
