Chicago White Sox first baseman Adam Dunn showing steady growth - MLB News
The Chicago White Sox first baseman Adam Dunn is currently playing a wonderful role for his team. He is not showing his confidence, but at the moment, his entire focus is on consistent results of White Sox in this ongoing Major League Baseball season.
Before coming into 2012 MLB season, he has also performed a key role in Spring Training which were took place in Arizona last month. He proved relatively good and also proved his offensive worth going with enormous amount of confidence and at the same time, playing a consistent game.
With first four weeks’ of baseball, Adam Dunn is already feeling that he has achieved a right kind of momentum which will certainly help him to come out with more energy and consistent ball play in the coming days as well.
"I feel a lot better than I did the last few games," Dunn said. "I’m still swinging at a lot of pitches that I shouldn’t. We need to fix that. I’m being a little too selective, and when I’m getting myself in hitters’ counts, they’re making pitchers’ pitches. I’m usually able to lay off, but I’m swinging at them."
In the recent game against the Seattle Mariners, Dunn was extremely influential. Going aggressive, Dunn had an RBI double in the very first innings of the game as he later also hit for a three-run homer in the second with another tremendous home-run in the eighth inning which ultimately gave the White Sox an exceptional 7-3 victory.
His numbers climbed as he improved his 8-for-34 (.235) with four doubles, six RBI, four runs and 16 strike-outs to .245 hitting along with .344 OBP. On the other hand, his career .244 hitting average along with 368 home runs, 934 RBIs and .374 OBP also places him in the elite outfielders.
In the meanwhile and on contrary to Dunn’s recent performances, the White Sox new manager Robin Ventura also trying hard to get good results from the entire roster.
Recently, Ventura has said for getting consistent results from his entire roster as, “It doesn’t mean difficult things don’t get talked about, I don’t want it aired out for everybody to see. I’d rather do it face to face.”
Experts believe if things remained consistent for the White Sox, the efforts Adam Dunn and Robin Ventura are putting, will soon get them quite near qualifying into the post season.
