Chicago White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko await for potential return – MLB News
Despite Chicago White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko has been cleared to start working out after he suffered a mild concussion but still his potential return is not quite sure.
They White Sox management is taking much care regarding his player’s full recovery after he spent 7-day on disabled list.
Even though team doctors have stated and somewhat explained to Konerko and White Sox management that their player is fully fit and can play again but the management is still reluctant to take any further step and holding back their player before his full
recovery.
"It's a big part of your lineup, and for us, you just try to fill in until you get him back. He was checked out and everything is looking good, (On Tuesday) he'll probably start riding a bike and doing physical stuff. I don't know if he will do a whole lot
of baseball stuff but he will start getting some activity in to see how that goes,” White Sox manager Robin Ventura said of Konerko and explained in public about importance in the team.
Later Konerko’s teammate and White Sox ace designated hitter Adam Dunn said, "We miss him a lot, he's one of the most productive hitters in the league, But guys have stepped up and that's what we have to do until he gets back."
Konerko is considered one of the best players in the White Sox roster. From start of the 2012 Major League season, Konerko has been also playing wonderfully.
Before getting onto disabled list, Konerko was hitting with .316 along with 18 homers, 54 RBIs and .388 OBP.
While his career .283 hitting average along with 414 homers and 1315 RBIs and .360 OBP also makes him a good player at first base.
In the meanwhile, all these stats and the experience Konerko possesses at the moment is a huge achievement itself. His return into the roster is very much needed but the way things turned out lately after his concussion signs, his manager and most importantly
the entire White Sox management is still waiting for his full recovery.
