Chicago White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko confident for consistent plays – MLB News
The Chicago White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko is quite confident over his team’s next outings against big opponents.
He recently expressed in the media that all the players must stay focused to play well against any tough opponent.
He is sure that in coming months, there will be some changes in competition ahead when all the team will be looking forward to achieve post season qualification.
“There are going to be some momentum shifts, back and forth, good and bad, You just have to stay the course as best we can and trust what got us in the position we're in, which is breaking things down in small common denominators. It's just one game and go out and play as hard as we can and move on. That's why we're in first place, because we've played like that all year. Let's not abandon that." White Sox skipper said in detail.
Currently the situation of White Sox’s winning percentage and overall standings in their respective Division is somewhat very impressive but at the same time the Detroit Tigers are giving them a hard time in every manner.
Though they are second in the American League Central Division with 69-61 win-loss along with .531 winning percentage but the White Sox are still ahead with 72-58 win-loss and a .554 winning percentage.
"We're out of here now, and have to worry about Detroit (Friday)," said Pierzynski recently and told the media about his team’s current position and also explained about the situation.
Konerko on the other hand, is quite sure that his team will move forward into the post season with ease.
However, he also believes that White Sox must ensure that they should play hard which is the only way they will survive the post season race.
Konerko’s own performance has been also impressive since the 2012 Major League Baseball season has started. He is currently hitting at .312 along with 21 homers, 60 RBIs and .384 OBP.
Seeing Konerko’s performance, many experts in the media are giving him credit that his performance alone will be beneficial for the White Sox in the coming weeks.
