Chicago White Sox hammer Houston Astros 10-1 – MLB Recap
The Chicago White Sox crushed the Houston Astros 10-1 in the second game of their three-match regular series encounter on Saturday, June 9 at U.S. Cellular in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
With this win, the White Sox also levelled the series 1-1 with one game to spare. The first game of the series was won by Astros but now the White Sox are looking more confident to take away the series.
From start of the game, Chicago side looked more aggrieve on their home field. They also knew that in the very last game, the Astros comprehensively beaten them.
Adam Dunn smashed a grand slam and gave the White Sox’s confident to win the game.
"Obviously, we have all the confidence in the world. We know if we score him a few runs, then normally it's going to be good enough," slugger Adam Dunn said.
Not only the batting line-up, but the White Sox’s pitching offence also played wonderfully and performed a balance play throughout the game.
Chris Sale won another game for his team. He remained calm and stood tall in his eight innings’ spell. He gave only four hits and finished with no run. He also struck out seven Astros batters and maintained his 2.05 ERA.
"I'm not one to really look at my stats or anything like that. It really doesn't do anything for you, You got a five (ERA) or a one and you still got to go out there and pitch and get outs. It was kind of crazy there, But everything got figured out and I'm trying to move forward from that. That ball was smoked. Got to get out of the way of it,” Sale said after the game.
On the other hand, the Astros starter Jordan Lyles certainly performed with no thrust. He gave too much waivered deliveries and smashed for five runs along with seven hits.
Experts believe that the recent winning continuation of White Sox’s roster is certainly a healthy sign for their chances to qualify into the postseason. Currently the White Sox are leading the American League Central Division with 33-26 win loss record.
