Chicago White Sox lose to Boston Red Sox 3-10 – MLB Recap
The Boston Red Sox defeated the Chicago White Sox 10-3 in a gruelling game on Friday, April 27 at U.S. Cellular Field, Illinois in their second game of four-match regular series of 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Left fielder Darnell McDonald played a key role for the Red Sox when he hit an exceptional three-run tiebreaking double and a home-run in the last innings to give his team a commanding position in the series 2-0.
Red Sox right fielder Cody Ross later stated in the media with jubilation on his team’s fifth consecutive win.
"Yeah. Definitely. When we lost that game when we were up 9-0 at that point it was the bottom, it felt like. It was nice to get away from that. Get on the road," said Ross. "In baseball, I think it really doesn't matter. A lot of times, it's nice to have
the home crowd behind you, but when you're struggling as a team, sometimes it's nice to just get away and it's been helpful for us. But it's something that is rare what we're doing."
Chicago White Sox also looked energetic when they entered on the field. They also led first in the very first innings, but soon pushed behind by the Red Sox offence.
Red Sox made two runs in the second and five in the sixth innings. Later in the seventh, the Red Sox again made further two runs with the help of Cody Ross, Dustin Pedroia, Adrian Gonzalez and Kelly Shoppach.
The last and final score was hit by McDonald in the ninth inning leading his team towards victory which now looking determined to clinch the series as well.
This particular game showed the averaged defence of White Sox as they received fourth straight loss on Friday.
Previously they have also lost to the Red Sox in their opening game of regular series matchup while before coming into this series losing from the Oakland Athletics 2-0.
White Sox manager Robin Ventura on the other hand, is still looking optimistic and hoping a good matchup against the Cleveland Indians which starts from May 1.
